For this year, it is planned to have an outing to the Isle of May in the Firth of Forth on Saturday 24th September, when the sailing from Anstruther is at 10.15 am.
Last September, 50 plus members of the congregation enjoyed the visit to Durham Cathedral. There was widespread enthusiasm at the time for continuing these occasional ‘outings’. Although it’s not possible this year, Iain Paton`s intention is to try a trip to Lindisfarne (the Holy Island version – not his house which has the same name!) but unfortunately on account of a vacancy, dates of weddings and getting the right tide to cross to and from the island, it’s not possible to get it all to coincide on a Saturday. That venture will come, hopefully, next year.
For this year, it is planned to have an outing to the Isle of May in the Firth of Forth on Saturday 24th September, when the sailing from Anstruther is at 10.15 a.m. We could double up in cars for this, avoiding the need to hire a coach, hold our own Songs of Praise Event on the island, build in a visit to the Anstruther Fish and Chip Restaurant on our return, and there could be a visit to the Paton’s Lindisfarne on the way back for a light afternoon tea.
If this appeals to you, please make a note of the date now and a list will go up on the Old Nave Notice board a little nearer the time.
