Regular readers will be pleased to learn that our Entertainment Committee (affectionately known as the Sanhedrin) having come up last year with an exotic fundraiser in the shape of a ceilidh now, after some more raiment ripping, intend, with the co-operation of the Ladies Forum, to restore the long lamented cheese and wine evening. This truly is a small step for mankind – don’t miss it.

We start the new season in September and already the cry of competition is in our ears and we imitate the action of the tiger – stiffen the sinews and summon up the blood as Willie Shakespeare might have said.
